TELEHEALTH DURING COVID-19

In an abundance of caution related to COVID-19, I will be transitioning to a primarily tele-health practice. This decision is a preventative measure in an effort to follow the latest available information and be a part of helping to slow the spread of this virus. I will reevaluate this on a weekly basis and offer updates as they occur. 

 

As your provider, it is my mission to ensure your continued care during this time. If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, or if you need support more immediately during this time of significant change and uncertainty, please reach out by email or phone.

 

What will happen for upcoming appointments?

If you have an upcoming appointment with me, I will plan to proceed with our appointment as scheduled with the exception of it being by video rather than in person. If you need to reschedule for any reason, please let me know.

 

How does tele-health work?

Tele-health is a video-based health service. I will be using a secure HIPAA-compliant tele-health platform thru the patient portal you are already familiar with using. Prior to the appointment, you will receive an automated email with a link to join the secure video session.

 

Are there changes to fees?

My fee schedule will remain the same for tele-health sessions. 

 

What if I want to submit claims to my insurance?

Many insurance plans will allow tele-health services and cover these in the same way as office visits. However, this is not consistent across all plans, and it is recommended to contact your insurance company if you are unsure of this. When you call, you would ask them if tele-health sessions are covered and ask what modifier should be added to the CPT code. I routinely add the modifier “95” (e.g., 90834-95), but some insurance plans may request a different modifier code.
